Kintsugi Healing

The Kintsugi Healing Experience

Kintsugi comes from the Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery with gold, creating something more beautiful and valuable than the original piece of art. I chose this name because I believe it is a beautiful metaphor for life. We all have experiences in life that we do not plan for that cause cracks and breaks in our plan for life. Kintsugi puts those pieces back together, accentuating the cracks and the breaks with gold, not hiding them, in order to create a beautiful and valuable piece of art. I believe as we receive healing for our “cracks” and “breaks” in life, we are coming back towards a place of wholeness that is more beautiful because of the experiences we have and that our true beauty and value as humans is able to be seen.

About Kati

I graduated from Liberty University with my masters in Professional Counseling in 2012 and practiced in Western North Carolina in a variety of settings with children, adolescents and their families until starting my private practice in 2017 at which time I began working more with adults in individual therapy. At this time I am meeting primarily with adults and adolescents.

I utilize an integrated approach to counseling that is person centered and trauma informed as well as Christ centered for those who desire that. I utilize a combination of Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Expressive Arts,  and EFT (Tapping), to meet the individual needs of my clients and their families. I value highly the importance of the therapeutic relationship and attunement with my clients.

I provide sessions outdoors at local parks, indoors at my office in downtown Morganton, and virtually.
